As part of the 100 Days Special Awareness Programme for Gender Sensitization Week, Taliparamba Arts and Science College, Kanhirangad, in collaboration with the District Women and Child Development Office, Kannur, organized a special session on Gender Sensitization on 4th September 2024. The session was held in the college’s Seminar Hall at 10:30 AM.
The resource person, Mr. Shyjith Karuvakode, Director of Excellent Training Academy, led the session and shared crucial insights on the importance of gender equality, addressing stereotypes, and fostering mutual respect across all genders. The session was a key part of the broader efforts to promote gender awareness and inclusivity among the college students.
A large number of students from the NSS (National Service Scheme) participated actively in the session. Their engagement in the discussions highlighted the importance of the topic and the eagerness to contribute towards a more gender-sensitive society. Mr. Karuvakode emphasized the role young people can play in challenging existing norms and promoting gender equity.
The event was supported by SANKALP: Hub for Empowerment of Women, adding further significance to the college’s commitment to empowering students with knowledge and creating awareness around gender-related issues.
A workshop titled “LED Bulb Making” was organized by the ED Club of Taliparamba Arts & Science College, Kanhirangad on 25th September 2024. The session was conducted by Vijina C, a resource person from the Malabar Training Institute, and took place in Room No. 58 of the college at 10:00 AM. The workshop was highly successful, providing valuable insights into LED technology and inspiring students to consider energy efficiency and sustainability as key factors in their future endeavors.
Taliparamba Arts and Science College successfully conducted its Convocation Ceremony for the Class of 2024 on July 3, 2024. The event was a grand celebration of academic achievements, attended by graduates, their families, faculty members, and esteemed guests. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. T. P. Ashraf, Syndicate Member of Kannur University and Principal of Keyi Sahib Training College, Taliparamba.
The inaugural ceremony of the Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) was successfully conducted on the 1st of July, 2024, at the college auditorium. This significant event marked the beginning of a new academic journey for the incoming batch of students. It provided a platform for students to understand the comprehensive nature of the program and the plethora of opportunities it offers for personal and academic growth. The college looks forward to a productive and enriching year ahead as it embarks on this new educational endeavor with the FYUGP.
The PG Department of English organized a class on “Research Methodology and Documentation for English Studies” on 19/7/2023, led by Mr. Mani PP, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Government Brennan College.
Taliparamba Arts and Science College Physics Department Students Celebrated National Science Day. The celebration kicked off with an inspiring keynote address delivered by Shaji V Sebastian, a retired Senior Scientist from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Mr. Sebastian’s insights into the role of space science and technology captivated the audience, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing global challenges.Throughout the day, participants engaged in a diverse array of activities designed to promote scientific literacy and stimulate intellectual curiosity. Interactive workshops, panel discussions, and poster presentations provided platforms for students to showcase their research projects and engage with experts in the field.
Continuing this legacy of excellence, on February 7th, 2024, Poiesis hosted the spectacular “Gala 2k24.” This grand event showcased the literary prowess of our students and served as a platform for unveiling the Department Magazine, “FUMING WHEN SIZZLING WAR AND PEACE IN FRYPAN” We were honored to have Mr. Sreerag PK, Assistant Professor at PRNSS Mattannur College, as our esteemed guest. As we reflect on our journey, we take pride in Poiesis’ achievements and the unwavering support of our faculty, students, and esteemed guests. With each endeavor, we reaffirm our commitment to nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and a passion for literature. In 2022, “La Muse” witnessed the unveiling of our esteemed literary club, christened “Poiesis,” by Mr. Shivsankar Rajmohan. The session, gracefully led by Mr. Rajmohan, captivated the audience, marking another milestone in our literary voyage.
