The second phase of the Placement Drive 2024 was successfully conducted at Taliparamba Arts and Science College in association with DataPower Technologies Pvt Ltd. The event aimed to provide career opportunities for BSc Computer Science graduates by connecting them with potential employers.

The Inaugural Ceremony of the Four-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) was successfully conducted on 1st July 2024 at the Taliparamba Arts and Science College auditorium. The event marked the beginning of a transformative academic journey under the new curriculum, aimed at providing holistic and flexible education to students.

Taliparamba Arts and Science College Physics Department Students Celebrated National Science Day. The celebration kicked off with an inspiring keynote address delivered by Shaji V Sebastian, a retired Senior Scientist from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Mr. Sebastian’s insights into the role of space science and technology captivated the audience, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing global challenges.Throughout the day, participants engaged in a diverse array of activities designed to promote scientific literacy and stimulate intellectual curiosity. Interactive workshops, panel discussions, and poster presentations provided platforms for students to showcase their research projects and engage with experts in the field.

Continuing this legacy of excellence, on February 7th, 2024, Poiesis hosted the spectacular “Gala 2k24.” This grand event showcased the literary prowess of our students and served as a platform for unveiling the Department Magazine, “FUMING WHEN SIZZLING WAR AND PEACE IN FRYPAN” We were honored to have Mr. Sreerag PK, Assistant Professor at PRNSS Mattannur College, as our esteemed guest. In 2022, “La Muse” witnessed the unveiling of our esteemed literary club, christened “Poiesis,” by Mr. Shivsankar Rajmohan. The session, gracefully led by Mr. Rajmohan, captivated the audience, marking another milestone in our literary voyage.

The Department of Computer Science hosted the SparkSlides Showdown Presentation Competition on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in the Smart Classroom. The event aimed to harness the power of presentations and showcase the talents of first semester students from various departments. It was a day filled with enthusiastic participation, creativity, and talent.

On March 13, 2024, the Department of Computer Science & Application at Taliparamba Arts and Science College organized an industrial visit to Mizone Technology Park in Mangattuparambu, Kannur. The visit was attended by 91 students, comprising first-year BSc Computer Science and BCA students, as well as second-year BSc Computer Science students. The highlight of the visit was a session on Startups & Skill Development led by Mr. Subhash Babu K, Director of Mizone, where students gained valuable insights into the practical applications of AI and its significance in today’s digital landscape. Additionally, representatives from Btrac Software Company shared their knowledge, further enriching the students’ understanding of technology. The visit concluded with a campus exploration, allowing students to immerse themselves in the innovative environment of Mizone. Overall, the industrial visit provided students with a holistic perspective on technology and entrepreneurship, inspiring them to explore innovative career paths in the field of computer science.

The Department organized a seminar “ Co-operative sector in Kerala in the current scenario- its relevance, opportunities and challenges” on 17^th November 2022 as part of 69^th All India Co-operative Week Celebration. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. P M Ismael (Principal, Taliparamba arts and Science College) and the seminar was lead by Mr. Satheesh Kumar K (Senior Auditor, Co-operative Department, Taliparamba). The first prize winners in the co-operative quiz program were awarded cash prize and memento by the resource person.
