As part of the 100 Days Special Awareness Programme for Gender Sensitization Week, Taliparamba Arts and Science College, Kanhirangad, in collaboration with the District Women and Child Development Office, Kannur, organized a special session on Gender Sensitization on 4th September 2024. The session was held in the college’s Seminar Hall at 10:30 AM.
The resource person, Mr. Shyjith Karuvakode, Director of Excellent Training Academy, led the session and shared crucial insights on the importance of gender equality, addressing stereotypes, and fostering mutual respect across all genders. The session was a key part of the broader efforts to promote gender awareness and inclusivity among the college students.
A large number of students from the NSS (National Service Scheme) participated actively in the session. Their engagement in the discussions highlighted the importance of the topic and the eagerness to contribute towards a more gender-sensitive society. Mr. Karuvakode emphasized the role young people can play in challenging existing norms and promoting gender equity.
The event was supported by SANKALP: Hub for Empowerment of Women, adding further significance to the college’s commitment to empowering students with knowledge and creating awareness around gender-related issues.
Taliparamba Arts and Science College successfully conducted its Convocation Ceremony for the Class of 2024 on July 3, 2024. The event was a grand celebration of academic achievements, attended by graduates, their families, faculty members, and esteemed guests. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. T. P. Ashraf, Syndicate Member of Kannur University and Principal of Keyi Sahib Training College, Taliparamba.
The inaugural ceremony of the Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) was successfully conducted on the 1st of July, 2024, at the college auditorium. This significant event marked the beginning of a new academic journey for the incoming batch of students. It provided a platform for students to understand the comprehensive nature of the program and the plethora of opportunities it offers for personal and academic growth. The college looks forward to a productive and enriching year ahead as it embarks on this new educational endeavor with the FYUGP.

The celebration kicked off with an inspiring keynote address delivered by Shaji V Sebastian, a retired Senior Scientist from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Mr. Sebastian’s insights into the role of space science and technology captivated the audience, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing global challenges.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in a diverse array of activities designed to promote scientific literacy and stimulate intellectual curiosity. Interactive workshops, panel discussions, and poster presentations provided platforms for students to showcase their research projects and engage with experts in the field.
